Can you tell me why some AGS certificates show the light performance map for both the top and bottom views of the
diamond, whereas others only show the top view? (This is the coloured diagram on the certificate).

Thanks

it depends on what the individual companies want displayed on the report.

Thanks diamondloveaffair.

As cut quality knowledge has evolved, grading labs are under increased pressure to include H&A views/reports. As a lab specializing in cut-quality AGSL has responded by offering both crown and pavilion ASET imprints for clients who want them. At present there is no grading implication; all light-performance implications remain in the crown view. The pavilion ASET simulation is just their way to demonstrate (a semblance of) cut-precision present in the pavilion. It should be noted that this imprint can only be as good as the computer-scan of the diamond.

Bottom line: In response to growing requests they are essentially showing a simulation of the diamond's H&A pattern while promoting their own technology.

As a technical note for anyone interested; they increased the blue cone from 30 to 33 degrees for the pavilion ASET view. Groovy.
