AGS 000 and 32.9 Crown Angle?

In my never ending quest for earrings, I've now gone to the edge of insanity and looking at 1.5 ct each. One of the stones is in house, and the specs are a little different than I expected. It is not the top line H&A, and I don't think that is the end of the world. But from everything I've read, you want the crown angle to be 34-35 degrees, so 32.9 seems well off.

I searched the forum and read mostly about GIA XXX with a 33 degree crown. The feedback was usually that it wouldn't qualify for AGS 000 and that the diamond would not have colorful flashes, just white. So I'm not sure what to make of an AGS 000 with <33 crown.

Will this diamond perform well or is what was written in other threads going to be true here also? I did the HCA and it returned <1, with Excellent for everything except spread.

Don't worry about the crown angle. The ASET and the proportions sound perfect, really.
You will see fire and a bright white diamond.
If you do some searches on this forum, you will learn that shallow diamonds are the best option for earrings, because you don't have the factor head obstruction.
And this stone is not what I call shallow, it's just fine.
What worries me more is the old certificate and the inclusion plot.
Some times, too many clouds can make a diamond less lively and crisp, even if it's eye clean.
You should ask vendor if the clarity impacts the performances.

It did get AGS 0 for light performance so that's good

I have seen many PS members going for SI1/SI2 diamonds with cloud and comments about additional clouds not shown. While I usually advise going for the lowest clarity and eye clean diamonds, people should be very careful about these. They could have transparency problems that may not be immediately apparent until you compare them to crisp diamonds and/or under different lighting conditions.

They sent me a video and the match should be in the store on Tuesday. They've been incredibly helpful, so I really do hope that the match is good. I appreciate the concern about the SI1, but I'm not sure I'll know for sure until it is in-hand.

I got the information on the match today. Originally it was supposed to be another AGS 000 H SI1 but today they sent me information for a GIA XXX instead - the link to the cert does not work so I cannot link it here. After all of what I read about a 33 degree angle and GIA XXX being less than optimal, I'm not sure about this.

Below are the pics side by side, the AGS stone is on the left and the GIA on the right. The two are priced identically.

I really just want to understand if the GIA stone is equal to the AGS. I'm going beyond my budget and I'm out of my depth.

Do you have the AGS PGS report for the original AGS stone (not actual AGS grade report, but the one done by GOG using AGS software)?
The stone is AGS Ideal, meaning no significant deduction in dispersion, brightness, leakage, and contrast. the AGS PGS report will tell you if there is any minor deduction, especially in dispersion where a diamond with crown angle of 33 may suffer.

If you are concerned about the light performance of the H SI1 because of 33 crown, you should ask GOG for a video comparing the H SI1 against one of their superideal diamond.

Just wanted to say clouds are 4th on the list of inclusions, so I wouldn't be greatly concerned. Even though it says additional clouds not shown, the thing to be cautious about is when it says Clarity grade based on clouds not shown.

The diamond video is pretty compelling. Both stones look great and appear to be a good match in the video.
