Consider the ''dittos'' and the ''+1s'' to be the print version of a conversational head nod, or a grunt of agreement. If you were sitting at a table with eight other people, and one asked a question which was answered by one of the ''pros'' present, would you expect everyone else to stare ahead in silence even if they agreed with the pro''s response?
I imagine that real professionals who are confident and know what they are doing don''t find a ''ditto'' from a lowly consumer to be annoying.
If they do find it irritating, I hope they know they are free to leave at any time, or in the very least, to skim past the offending posts.

With all the annoying things one can encounter on public forums, I truly cannot fathom how ''ditto'' or ''+1'' posts can make anyone''s I-feel-the-need-to-complain-about-this-publicly list.
They serve a valid purpose, which is more than can be said about many other posting styles.
Yup. I think this thread is much to do about nothing... But that's just MHO.Date: 11/30/2009 5:18:50 PM

It should be noted, that reaching 10,000 posts by starting dozens of posts a day, or responding to dozens each day, which spawns meaningless silliness on the cafe threads, does not ensure an attaboy or attagirl from Pricescope. You do have to actually contribute.
Just sayin''. ''Cause I think there may be some confusion.
I don''t know. I wasn''t referring to any if there are. I was referring to topics/posts that don''t seem to have a real reason for being. Questions that no one really cares about, and the answers aren''t really the point. They exist as tally marks on the spreadsheet of ''how many posts can I rack up''. You''ve seen ''em. This smells like one - - to me.Date: 11/30/2009 7:59:35 PM
