AGBF, the music is playing!

It seemed like a shame that more people were interested in the thread on holiday music they disliked than on holiday music they liked, so I did some searching on the 'net for new (i.e. 2012) Christmas music to share. I found this 2012 release by Sufjan Stevens of "A Coventry Carol" which, of course, is the antithesis of "new music". I mean, the piece is the antithesis of new music, but the rendition is very fresh and new indeed and I really liked it!

I believe that "The Mediaeval Baebes" were mentioned earlier in this thread; I know they have been mentioned often in the Pricescope Christmas music threads of earlier years. I didn't want to let this thread go by without a link posted to their rendition of, "The Holly and The Ivy". That is one of my favorite Christmas songs, but also one I cannot sing by myself. It really requires a group, or at the least, a partner. Most years nowadays, now that I no longer sing with a group, I just don't get to sing it!

I wanted to make sure that this thread was front and center today. Merry Christmas, everyone! Here is one of my favorites, "The Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah" as interpreted by the trio of sisters who sing together-often a cappella- called, "The Roches".

In the course of reading an article this morning, I was linked to this ministry. I have never heard of this guy, but he lists many album titles and has many vids on Youtube. Apparently they just put out a new CD, Christmas Carols On Guitar. There's a video with What Child Is This on the homepage. It's really beautiful, both to the ears and the eyes. Be sure to go to full screen so you don't miss it!
