Agate is a very intriguing gem material and comes in many different varieties. I think these stones would make excellent pendants or pins in jewelry application..
Agate is considered an ornamental gem & a variety of chalcedony. In general agate is relatively inexpensive. Some varieties of agate have unusual markings & depending on the type of pattern displayed, can demand a premium price. In jewelry application agate is frequently seen in antique pieces as well as some contemporary pieces. Agate is a crystalline form of quartz and can be found in translucent or transparent masses. Inclusions in agate can resemble ferns, moss, or tree-like patterns.There are a broad range of patterns and different varieties of agate found in a variety of different colors.
