This "mush" is typical of a lot of ovals. The good thing about this stone is that nice facets that do light up with a slight turn (some stay mushy and
do not have additional facets that light up).
We can try to help you find a better stone if you want to take a look around. The really good ones are few and far between though.
Edit...an example. I would consider a stone like this in the top tier for ovals. Lots of facets with nice light return. Minimized mushy areas.
Most ovals that I* like personally tend to be 6 mains.
