Advice requested on this Whiteflash 2.996 J VS-2.

Hi All,

I had no intention of upgrading until I saw this stone on WF inventory. I should not have even been looking. I need to buy a car! The size bump would be nice at .15mm. I can detect size difference in even a .10mm difference. :-/. It’s a curse! The upgrade will be about $550. I think for .15mm at this size it’s a good jump. I have no clue if diamond prices will drop or not but I’ll be happy to sit at my dream 3ct (let’s round up..lol). So... what’s the problem? The inclusion plot. I’ve had a lot of SI-1’s, as well as higher clarities, but this isn’t as clean as some of those SI’s I’ve had. Colour is confirmed to be a solid J, creamy not brown. The table is a bit larger than I’ve had to but not that much larger than the one I have now & the crown angle is 14.9. I’m trying to not get hung up on the numbers. The inclusion plot is my concern. Emailed Bryan to get his take on the cloud situation. Since this is A Cut Above stone, I would guess there are no impacts to the stone but I want confirmation of that. My rep said it was eye clean & maybe at 5” I might see something. Would love it if this stone had the new video format. What about the clouds & the feather on the crown. I know trades can’t comment on individual stones but can you comment on the cloud location & size? I’ll attach a link and some pictures I got from WF. Plus the very is from Sept. & usually these size stones sell quickly.

Thanks AV. In theory I understand density of clouds not just size make a difference but wanted to get some feedback. 2nd thoughts are always mentally draining. Lol lol. Brittany confirmed no snow globe effects & said it was beautiful. I guess I’ve reached my dream size. .

Are you okay with the tint of the 2.983J? I know your 2.88 is a J but (to my eyes), the 2.996 J was more tinted than the 2.983 J. I could be a little cross eyed from staring at a computer screen all day though.

It looks like it could be an eye clean VS2 but since WF has it in hand, I would wait to see what they have to say in terms of clarity.

They told me all was ok & it meets all the ACA criteria. .
Southernicetea, I’ve had a lot of J’s with varying tints. Most have been ok except for the one last year that had a brownish hue to it. I favour a creamy hue. Brittany said it was a solid J. My 2.88 was described the same way. In most lighting, I’m ok with it. If I’m in lighting that isn’t so flattering, I move my hands more. Haha. I’d love a big G but it’s not gonna happen unless someone rich leaves me in their will. Lol. Now I can continue researching cars. Lol.
