Looks like a very well cut stone from the numbers to me.

Hi Paolm,

It looks promising by the numbers ( thanks PG!) Is it for sale with an online seller or have you seen it in person? If it is online then an Idealscope or ASET image would be helpful, these images are used in order to see how well the proportions of the diamond work together which is particularly useful if you can''t see the diamond in person.

Hi, I have actually seen it in person at a jewler. It looks really quite nice and sparkles but to be honest I am no expert.
I could not really tell the difference in colour and it was eye clear - at least to my eyes!!

They are asking USD40k so don''t know if that is too much

What I would so as this is a sizeable purchase, if you like the diamond - make the sale final on it getting a good report in all aspects to your satisfaction with an independant appraiser. That way you will have an experienced professional give you their opinion on the diamond which is very valuable. Here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in your area.

Also if you wished, you could order an Idealscope for $25 and check it out yourself, these are easy to use and will help you to judge the cut.

Ditto Lorelei!! I definitely think an independent appraiser would be a great idea for a first and large purchase like this. The numbers look promising, but without pics I can''t say much more.

Hi

I have just been to the retailer and we only managed to get a photo with a camera over the Idealscope lens as the scanner wasnt working.

What are your thoughts based on these:

It looks like a very nice diamond! It isn't up to hearts and arrows standards but is a well cut stone nevertheless.
