Advice please for diamond stud earrings

Hi Pricescope community. I am reaching out for opinions and advice. I have been saving for a while for diamond stud earrings. I havnt reached my savings goal but I feel like I need something cheerful in my life at the moment with everything that is going on so I'm going to dip into my rainy day fund. I know I am lucky and there are more serious things to be thinking about at the moment and am a bit embarrassed to be even thinking of earrings while other people are suffering so bad but I too have some difficulties going on and this is my happy place.
Anyway.... My question is should I get smaller super-ideal studs or bigger (non super ideal studs) from a reputable jeweler like IDjewelery. I have ACA diamond and know how good they look but I would like biggish studs as I have long hair and biggish lobes. My total budget will be $15-20000. Has anyone swopped from one to the other so can explain how obvious the difference is, in the flesh.. So to speak. Any guidance or opinions from this community would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
I think that if you already have an ACA, there’s no going back! With that said, you could get something now and upgrade later. How big were you thinking? You can get super ideals in an E color in closer to a carat each for $20,000, so if you don’t have high color requirements you could get something really great!

Thanks very much for your reply. I have tried on 1 carat studs and they were lost on my lobes! Thats why I was considering non-ideal cuts so that I could get bigger stones. I would love to get 3-4ctw, but I know I wont get super ideals within my budget.
I tend to get attached to things so I know I wont upgrade later!
 
Super ideals will definitely have more sparkle, but since you'll be wearing the earrings you won't be able to enjoy the full benefit! Non-super ideals also have great sparkle and would be fine for earrings. People don't look as closely as rings since they are smaller, further away, and hair may often cover. If you have your heart set on the ACAs, you can always upgrade to a larger pair later. Ultimately, for me, I rather go bigger at (slightly) lower specs...
 
IDJ can do miracles with that budget. You can do 3.00 . I have purchased 4 different project with him and about to do a fifth. I'd use his uncertified stones and get 3.00 carats total weight. 3x . Not necessary to do anything more than g/H color eye clean stones. For your eyes. Unless you plan to give them to your kids as their engagement ring later in life.
