Hi all - while I don''t have photo''s handy, I did want to post some spec''s on two princess cuts I recently saw in person and am currently considering. They are relavitley similar and priced about the same (the 2.02 is about $500 more). As each stone looked great in person, I wouldn''t mind some input on how they compare based on the stats (if that''s possible). I didn''t see a major difference in look based on the EX/EX vs. VG/VG, so I guess i''m wondering how the measurements compare, which might look like a better value, etc...? I''m planning on seeing a couple more this week, but any feedback on these would be great.

1.
7.21 x 6.98 x 4.96
2.02 / F / VS2
VG, VG
Table: 72% / Depth: 71.1%
No flur, no culet, no comments

2.
7.06 x 7.03 x 5.04
2.07 / G / VS1
Ex, Ex
Table: 71% / Depth: 71.7%
No flur, no culet, no comments

Hi Scott

Unfortunately there isn't much we can tell you about either just with this very basic info, I don't see any flags but all the depth and table give us is a chalk outline of the stones. I know in a previous post I mentioned you could order an ASET scope to take with you, this would be a real help, also you could compare some AGS0 Princess if there is a seller near you in order to see how some well cut Princess look.

Apart from that all you can do is view as many as possible in person, you can try this test too - it isn't a perfect test but might be useful in someway. Hold both under a desk if you are unable to view the diamonds away from the store lights and watch to see what happens. The diamonds might lose some brilliance but you don't want them to go dead due to the reduced lighting, watch to see if they visibly shrink too when held under a desk. A well cut stone will hold up better than a lesser cut when trying this out, like I say it isn't a perfect test but its worth trying. Apart from that all you can do is view as many diamonds as possible and do try to view some AGS0 Princess in order to see a stone of known cut quality in order to have a good base of comparison.
