Hi all!

I've been so grateful for the help I've received on this forum in this exhausting engagement ring search process. I'd be appreciative if you could give me any advice on this lab grown OEC. It is a 1.56 ct lab I VVS 2 OEC, 51% table, 64.3% depth. Videos here and here. It's being sold for $2600. IGI report is here. Thank you all very much in advance!

I responded in your other thread, but I think this is a beautiful diamond and a good price.

This is an incredibly beautiful ring and stunning gorgeous OEC cut. Thank you for sharing your joy! I’m very curious where you purchased your LGD and who did this beautiful setting. Well done!

Thank you!! It was all done by Alex Park of Parks Fine Group!

So gorgeous! I love the engraving and the prongs!

Thank you!! I was actually wondering about your thoughts on this! I was actually hoping for a more delicate look and would have liked more thinner prongs/lines of the basket and a lower setting, but the ring came out this way. I want to trust Alex as he mentioned something thinner would be too fragile, but would love to hear your thoughts too!

I can't fully see how high the diamond is set--can you take a straight profile photo? Can you see the culet at that perspective? For the prongs, I think I see what you mean. There may be enough metal there to shave off some of the metal between the prongs. I don't think I'd make the prongs themselves any thinner, maybe just the metal between the prongs, if it can be done at all.

 I'm going to need all the pictures when you get this in hand. It's in my unicorn zone proportions!

Thanks so much! I don’t actually have the ring in my possession but will ask! And thanks for the tip! I will ask to see if that can be done!

I really appreciate your advice in all of this! I’m a bit nervous in communicating with him and don’t want to ask for anything too unreasonable o_O

Yes, I know what you mean--he does give off the vibe that he's too busy to answer questions, but it never hurts to ask for what you want!

Wow, what a fantastic ring and setting. I am not seeing the thickness of prongs at first look, just a whole lot of BEAUTIFUL stone and setting!

He got back to me with a video of the ring and it is beautiful! However he said that in order to make it more dainty/ shave off the sides, the stone would have to be reset for it to happen. Should I go for this or should I just be happy with the ring as is? Not sure if there is anything to be concerned about with regards to setting or unsetting. But also, I’m not sure if it would make too much of a difference in the end/ the ring has better structural integrity with this anyway!

The height from finger to top is 6mm, so seems perfect!

I agree, the height looks great! And now that I see the prongs more clearly, I think I wouldn't try to shave anything off. It's beautiful!

I also like it as is. I’m more prone to go for more structural strength and I really love the height too! It will be so easy to wear on the daily!!

I think it looks quite vintage in that setting - a lovely ring! I'm with Slickk, I wouldn't touch the setting.

Gorgeous! I love everything about it!
