Advice on this 2c RB "I" 25k budget e-ring

I'm not an expert, but my IS rankings would be 3, 2, 1. I'm guessing the feather in the 2.03 is too big to be covered with prong?

I think 2 would be a really nice choice since it's an AGS000 and is eye clean. How does it compare in price to the Whiteflash diamond you were looking at? The Whiteflash one has guaranteed H&A but the JA stone is 2 color grades higher.

Tough choice, but I think any of your choices will end up beautiful. You could also keep looking if you're not on a tight timeline.

The WF diamond is eyeclean. The as well as AGS000. The only thing would be the I vs the G color. I spoke to the gemologist at WF and asked the question about "I" color. The WF diamond is a "true I" color, not low or high, but he did caution me as well that women do have better eye-sight than men.

I'm not on a time-line but I have been looking pretty seriously for the past 6 months. I want to pop the question in the June time frame so about 2 months.

if it were me, If both eye clean and both AGS000, I'd pick the higher color. I feel like eye cleanness is binary - either it is eye clean or it's not. However, you may be able to tell a 2 grade color difference.

Of course, there are others that place a premium on H&A. So I guess what I'm saying is, figure out what's important to you and then decide.

What setting are you going with?

Thanks sortman, I'm currently leaning towards the one from JA. That stone is very well cut as well, although it doesn't have the "H&A" premium that the WF stone has.

The setting is going to be 6 prong solitaire in platinum, sweet and simple!

Was doing more browsing, any opinions on this stone from GOG?

I think the GOG stone looks like a great middle ground between the JA and the WF stone. If you're ok with an H, I'd pick this one.

Maybe others will weigh in as well.

Seems like a pretty decent stone. Pricing wise if I add in the setting for the GOG stone, it's approximate 1.5k - 2k more than the JA one. Might be due to the slightly better clarity as well as the H&A.

Need to sleep on it for a few days, I don't think I can go wrong with of these.

I agree! Don't spend 25K for anything unless you're completely comfortable with the decision. You will still be able to find similar stones at this price point even if you wait a month or two.

The one thing that did concern me was the recommended stone from the gemologist. If you look online at the 40x magnification, there is that black speck at 9 o clock on the table. I'm very surprised that it isn't noticeable and was considered eye-clean. Although they reassured me that the stone was eye-clean looking from the top.

I'm guessing that the inclusion is hidden by the all the sparkles. James Allen defines eye clean as this: http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/education/diamonds/diamond-clarity/eye-clean/

It's possible that it's not eye clean from a closer viewing distance. You could check with them on this. However, if you're really worried, get the GOG one. That one looks like it will be a really pretty stone!

I'm not really worried, I do trust that the JA gemologist has a good eye. I will want to talk to someone about it though before I go ahead and commit to it. Or I can just wait a little bit longer, but I think that it's a great stone regardless.
