Hi all,

I''m very excited and nervous as I''m about to buy my engagement ring online!

I would love your opinion on these diamonds:

What would be your preference? Anything I should be worried about? The numbers all look similar to me as I''m not the expert :)

Looking forward to your opinions!

We bought an ACA and are very happy with it.
The cut is astonishing.
I think F VS1 is a great combo and love staying with higher color and clarity.

You could just flip a coin and buy any three of these, but since you have a choice I'd grab the first one only because it does not have a feather.
I'm not a fan of feathers in any clarity.

edit: also the most serious inclusions are listed first.
On the 2nd and 3rd the first listed is the feather.

Thanks so much for your reply Karl.

Why are you not a fan of feathers as opposed to pinpoints etc?

Sorry, I meant Kenny!

A feather is the diamond industry's calm and non-alarming term for a crack.

Let's just say a crystal is not made any stronger at the location of the crack.
I'd worry that some day an impact near the crack may increase the chance in damage compared to if there was no feather there.

You will often hear, "Oh don't worry about a feather", or that warm and fuzzy, "it's not an issue " but since there are 3 similar diamonds to select from the feather would clinch it for me.
I'm just an overly cautious guy.

I don't necessarily run away screaming from feathers.
After all this IS a GIA VS1, a very high clarity.
In fact I recently bought an Octavia with a VS2 feather, but I didn't have a choice of 3 similar diamonds like you do.

Thanks, well I don''t often spend $10,000 on a diamond, so I thank you for warning me and being extra cautious! I would rather be extra cautious than not be cautious at all.

I put the numbers into the cut advisor and I''m happy with the results there too for the 1.028 stone

The only thing I don''t like about it, is that the crystal, needle and pinpoint are in the middle of the diamond. But you shouldn''t be able to see it with naked eye, right?

... In an ACA which AGS graded VS1? Absolutely not. - unless you were born with miscroscopes in your eye sockets.

You are going to LOVE this stone.
One time a woman came from across the room and said, "I've been a jeweler all my life and that is one of the best-cut diamonds I have ever seen."

feather in a vs1?

If you were to take a hammer to your stone at exactly the right angle, you''d probably do some damage that might be exacerbated by the presence of the feather... but then, you''d probably do enough damage that it wouldn''t make any difference. It''s a fear of having an issue, if you will.

But then, the 1.028 is a gorgeous rock, and if it''s more mind clean for you then go for it!

Well I think I''ll buy the 1.028 stone!

Thank-you all for your help!

Now I just have to work out the setting!
