I am new to this forum. Originally, I was looking through Bluenile to purchase a princess cut diamond. I thought I had it nailed down after reading through the diamond education section, and the discounted prices. After doing some searches, I came across this forum and quickly found out that the ratings systems for fancy cuts do not apply and would be difficult to determine the quality you are purchasing. I''ve looked through several sites recommended on here (goodoldgold.com, whitefash.com and niceice.com). Are there any other recommended online dealers who provide AGS ratings, Idealscope and ASET?

My budget is around 11k, and an ideal cut (ASG0) is the most important thing to me, and carat coming second (no less than 1.2). For the other categories, I would like no lower than a J color, and VS2 clarity.

Here are a few that i''ve found so far, and would like any thoughts/comments.

To me, it seems like the first diamond has more red in the middle (brighter?), hence it would have more sparkle and fire? If the size/carat weren''t an issue, which diamond has a better appearance, or dimensons?

I appreciate any feedback you can provide to help in my education and future purchase decisions.

Hi DAL and welcome!

Other vendors that supply ASET and other tools are,

www.highperformancediamonds.com

www.briangavindiamonds.com

www.jamesallen.com

Out of the two diamonds you have there, personally I prefer the ASET of the first, ASET isn't absolutely predictive of performance or light return but it can give some indication of this light return, discuss the diamond in more detail with your WF rep in order to learn more about its personality, performance nuances and characteristics.

I checked out the other vendors, and they don't seem to have any images directly available online.

On the first stone, are the dimensions in line with a higher quality princess?

. Report: AGS
. Shape: Princess
. Carat: 1.695
. Depth %: 70.2
. Table %: 70.9
. Crown Angle: 41.4
. Crown %: 11.3
. Pavilion Angle: 39.2
. Pavilion %: 57.4
. Girdle: Thin to Medium
. Measurements: 6.72-6.64X4.66
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

It looks like a very nice Princess from what I can tell, the grading report hasn''t been loaded so ask WF if they can do so or email you a copy.
