Hi Everyone!

This is my first post. I need some advice about my engagement ring. It is close to 3/4 carat center stone surrounded by a halo. I love it, but I have been looking at pictures on the internet and I never see this type of ring with a gap between the center stone and the halo. I personally thought it was nice and that it set off the center stone and made it stand out, but I actually saw a derogatory comment about a halo setting that contained a gap, and so now I am worried. I would appreciate opinions. The ring could be traded for something else...but honestly I don''t want to trade it unless this is an obvious mistake. Sorry about the poor photo quality. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I think I''ve seen halos done with and without gap...if you love it then no need to change it!

Depends on the setting design and if it is make for the size stone.

But this looks like a well set ring, the air gap is uniform throughout.

I love your ring!! Here is my Beverely K. I think the airline really defines the center stone instead of trying to disguise the size of it.

I definitely don''t think having your halo slightly offset is an obvious mistake. I''d say that the only reason why most halos are close to the diamond is because it''s a personal preference and most people like the look. That doesn''t in ANY way mean that your ring is poorly made, it''s simply a preference.

In my honest opinion, I think your ring is beautiful. If you love it, then that''s really all that matters. Exchange it only if that''s something you really want to do.. otherwise just enjoy your beautiful ring!

I think I prefer Uppy setting just because the center diamond is bezeled.

It''s matter of taste and your ring is beautiful! It''s surely not a mistake!!!

The design of a setting is absolutely personal - there is no mistake as long as you like it.

I think your ring is beautiful! The halo on your ring complements and highlights the center stone, and the entire ring is nicely proportioned. To me, the ring design is well-executed, and the overall look is balanced and cohesive. I don''t view the space between the halo and the center stone as a mistake or a sign of poor craftsmanship -- instead I see your ring as a lovely example of the halo ring style which incorporates a slim circle of empty space into its design.

Whether or not to have an airline is a personal choice. I think your ring looks very pretty with one, but if you don''t care for it, have it changed.

I really like the way your ring looks.

Thanks so much for your comments. I really do love it...so it''s a keeper. Uppy, thanks for posting the picture...your setting is amazing!!!

Glad to hear!

I think your ring is very pretty - the airline is spaced evenly all around and adds a design element to it while showcasing the stone. I do not see it as a mistake at all..but rather an intended design!

Gaps would only be an issue if a) they were not your personal preference or b) it was uneven or not designed to have a gap (so was set incorrectly or with wrong sized stone for halo and so on).

Enjoy your ring!

Your setting is lovely...no need to worry!

I think a halo with or without an airline is lovely. I really like your ring!!

By the way, welcome to Pricescope!
