I''d appreciate some advice on the following - as about to go forward!

Firstly - opinions on the value of this diamond?

GIA H VS2 2.01ct
8.10 x 8.13 x 5mm
Round Brilliant
Cut Grade - Excellent
Polish & Symmetry - Excellent
Fluorescence - None
H&A Inscription
$18,850

I''m ordering from the East Coast and need a fast turnaround as I need it when I leave the country next Friday. I''m looking to get appraised in San Francisco before purchase, then set in a basic 6 prong 14ct white gold setting, until we can choose something permanent that she''ll be over the moon with.

Any advice on appraisers in San Francisco - and where would be a good place in the Bay Area to get it mounted?

Wow - this train moves fast when you get on it!!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for steering this newbie in the right direction!

depth% 61.6%
table% 56%
crown and pavilion angles 35.5 and 40.6
girdle thickness thin-medium (faceted)

Does that sound about right? HCA came in at 1.3

Thanks!

You are most welcome, glad to do so!

The numbers look ok, personally I would like an ASET or Idealscope image to check it out but if this isn't possible then I would say it looks promising by the numbers. Is the diamond from a jeweller or online vendor?

Here is a tool you can use to find an appraiser in the SF area

That''s helpful and lets me know what to ask when I get to talking on the phone later today - and past email exchanges.

It''s a NY-based jeweller/wholesaler who advertises on pricescope and comes highly recommended courtesy of these forums.

Thanks for the list of appraisers - just trying to balance quality and reputation with a quick turnaround!
