We are looking at a large 3.1 Emerald Cut with EGL-USA Cert info as follows. I am not sure how to interpret all of these EGL measurments. I am confused about the crown and pavliion measurements. Is the pavilion too steep????

I would appreciate the input and advice of you experts. How does this sound..?
3.10 carats
J color
VS1
dimensions 9.94 x 7.34 x 4.72
depth 64.3 %
table 68 %
Crown 12.7%
Pavilion 49.5%
girdle very thin to medium polish
culet small
polish good
symmetry good

This is being offered at about $16,000...What do you think? What are concerns?

As of yet there are no ideal parameters for the emerald cut diamonds. I am told that within the next two to three months that AGS will be releasing their parameters for the ideal cut emerald and square emerald cut diamonds.

Perhaps then we can give you a better analysis sight unseen, but as for now it is difficult to give you good information.

So you have seen it in person? A J is too yellow for me in an EC, as they show more color than other cuts.
