first time poster. Been learning a lot on this site. Been looking for an engagement ring. Would love people's thought on this diamond

2.72 rb gia xxx. g vs2
gia# 2115818390
$48,000

plugged the specs into the hca and got a 2.4. Know it is above 2.0 but wondering since it is so close to the borderline is it still worth pursuing. Can't see the diamond myself but a friend who is working with a jeweler he trusts says it looks great and the jeweler thinks it is good too.

Will see if I can get an aset or idealscope photo but wondering if it worth looking further into with the hca score.

thanks.

Numbers look fine - HCA does let some beauties through the cracks.

PS vendor? Most jewellers won't have the ASET/IS scopes but you can buy your own if you want: http://www.ideal-scope.com/cart_order.asp

Your eyes are your best tools, if you are looking to buy locally - compare other stones across a variety of lighting types - in the spotlights, by a window in direct sunlight, under a desk, in the office, see which stone(s) your eyes consistently prefer.

Because of the rounding of numbers you will find some great looking stones over 2.0. If this stone speaks to you then you have a winner!
