Advice on Cartier Trinity Resizing

Hi all,
Have just come accross a really fantastic deal on a Cartier Trinity ring, the one with one paved band (not sure of name). The ring comes with all original paperwork and box etc, really is too good a deal to pass up. The only problem is it is several sizes too big. I was looking for a 54 to wear on my ring finger of my right hand. The ring is a 59. I have asked to view it and see how it fits on my middle finger of RH (not sure what size that is). I know when I view it though, I won't be able to leave without it, even if it is too loose. I have rung Cartier to see can it be resized and they said because of the pave they couldn't. Is there anything else I could do? I've heard a few people mention sizing beads but will this reduce the size by much, and not sure if they do that in Ireland? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scarlett

i dont think you could even use sizing beads in a trinity ring. so no you wouldn't be able to resize

however some ladies find a size up is comfortable in the trinity so if you can, try it on and see how it feels

sorry i just googled the ring sizes you mentioned and i would say it'll be way too big

I agree with hp - I don't see any way sizing rings would work in a trinity as long as you're trying to retain the "rolling" aspect of the rolling ring. If it's just the look you want, you might be able to get a jeweler to solder the rings together into a single stationary ring that just looks like a rolling ring and then put in sizing beads, but that would defeat the whole purpose of having a rolling ring.

HI:

That is a great ring but agree with what the other have said. How about wearing it on your pointer finger?

cheers--Sharon

I can't picture sizing beads working in a Trinity. The rings need to slide over one another as you put the ring on. I think sizing beads would get in the way and cause it to sit oddly.

Have you thought of using it as a pendant? I stick mine on a chain when I'm in the lab or at the gym. Maybe bring a chain with you when you meet with the seller and see if you like the look?

Thank everyone for the advice.
Well looks like the sizing beads are out so, as I still want the ring to 'roll' :)
I know I'm clutching at straws a bit, just such a great deal!!
I am going to view anyway and see will it fit my middle finger, don't mind it being loose as long as there is no fear of it falling off.
Could you resize the plain bands and leave the paved one as is, or would that look weird or compromise the 'rolling' aspect.

The ring would not roll on correctly if you did this, the rings must all be the same size for it to work.

Additionally because of how they're linked I'm not sure that a regular jeweler could even guesstimate the size to size it down.

I have a very competent jeweler I trust to resize many of my rings I buy preowned, and I was very interested in a rolling ring myself size was only off by 1 whole size, and they firmly stated no they couldn't. I would wait and see if anymore will come up preowned, eventually something will come up for you.
