Hi and thanks for all the help I have gotten on my other thread. I looked at an antique diamond set in rose gold today and would love your opinion! It is 1.21 carats, SI1 and K. The jeweler is asking $8925. What do you think? EB5FC90A-2793-4F78-BC35-6A424F111B80.jpeg

The price is extremely high. Look at jewels by grace, old world diamonds, ivy and rose. Their prices are much more reasonable

It doesn't blow me away. Have you looked at antiqueengagementrings.com? Leigh has beautiful rings and he is wonderful to work with. As others here have suggested, I think you can do better....

Hi, have you seen this ring in person i.e. is that a photo of you wearing it? If so, how did you feel looking at it on your hand?
It looks to be a lovely stone and setting. It is slightly out of round/elongated, which is something I actually was searching for when I upgraded.
Old cut stones are rarely “perfect”.
Can you do better in terms of pricing? Yes, but, it may take some time, especially if the faceting of this stone speaks to you.
Old cut stones are not like their modern counterparts i.e. easy to find something similar to in a short time frame.

Hi Moody, as mentioned by others above that's a bit overpriced, my advice- if the stone speaks to you, is not hazy and you really like it offer $6000, give it a try x

It looked great on, but I don’t want I get taken too badly.... what if it were $7140? I saw they ran a special during Christmas and I can see if they will match that price.

Ok, thank you! How will I pick up haze? Would they have a report in hand to help determine this?

Thanks! I will check them out.
