Advice on a potential Preloved purchase. Is this a good buy?

I was browsing LT and came across a listing for a Leon Mege eternity band in my size (3 3/4 according to the seller, what are the odds?). I'm hesitant because I've never purchased second hand before and it's also a little out of budget at $1100. The seller says she is firm on price.

I'd love input from the PS community. It's listed on Leon's site at $1800 new, so at just over 60% of full price, is this a good or fair price for a second hand LM eternity? Any tips for purchasing preloved? As it such a delicate eternity band (1.5mm) should I be concerned that I don't know what kind of wear and tear it has already been through?

I realize the question of whether that is a fair price is a separate question from whether it is worth it TO ME at that price, that is something I am still considering, but would appreciate some objective input from the forum.

find a nearby appraiser from the resources list at the top of this page.

Would a local appraiser be familiar with Leon Mege's work which I would assume is the where the value lies....?

The pricing is great. The person doesn't list a PS name and that is always a plus when I know who the seller is. I personally wouldn't buy a 1.5mm width band because it would be more fragile. Victor Canera has recommended a minumum of 1.8mm (and I'd personally want 2mm) in a full pave eternity. But if this is something you'd be interested buying new, then it is worth asking more questions.

If it is the Aussie seller I don't know her personally but I know of her, ask that you can verify it is a genuine item (which it should be) and if not then you wish to return it & you should be fine. If you pay via Paypal the item has to be genuine or you could demand a refund.

I'm glad you mentioned the size DS,I know there's some debate about how thin is too thin, but 1.5mm seems to be pretty common even among vendors producing lesser quality cast pieces. He even sells 1.2mm eternity! Though he does include a disclaimer about wearing with care....

I had some reservations about the size but I was hoping to get a least a little more durability by choosing a hand-forged Leon piece (although I would still baby it). Truly my favourite eternity band that I've seen is Erstwhile's Zephyr band https://erstwhilejewelry.com/products/zephyr but it's significantly more expensive than Leon's (new), I suspect it's cast, I have no idea of the quality of craftsmanship and it's also only 1.5mm.

I guess my question is, have a lot of people had problems with their page from LM in the past? On these boards I mostly see only praise for his quality of work criticism only in regards to his attitude.
