I was looking to buy a 5 stone eternity in a trellis design that could be worn alone or with a spacer with my engagement ring. I have been reading through the 5 stone posts and decided on .30pt each. The vendor has recommended .50, .45, .45, .30, .30. This was not the look I was going for and has bumped up the price. Does anyone have any thoughts, please?

Why not tell him what you want, all .30 stones? Why is he/she suggesting this? Do you have inspo pics to share with the jeweler to ensure you are both on the same page?

Hi,

I did tell them what I wanted and that. 0.50pts is too big for a center stone. I want to be able to wear it with my engagement ring when I am not at work. When at work, I want to be able to stacked it with a 2mm plain band.

Your Avatar ring looks beautiful. Is that a 5 stone non-graduated?

Yes, it is! The stones are .27 each. It’s a Brian Gavin setting. Im sure I have a thread on it…I love it! It gives full coverage on my 4.5 finger size. I wear it on my right hand, as it’s too much with my engagement ring. I get compliments on it often.

I have a 5 stone band from Whiteflash - all .33's. I love it and it's a great size as a stand alone ring. Have you sent pictures of what you are looking for so that they understand you do not want a graduated ring, but stones all the same size? It should be a pretty straightforward request. If they aren't listening to you, probably time to find a different place to work with.

My thoughts are to find another vendor who is able to listen to what you want and execute on it, rather than a vendor who doesn't listen and prefers to upsell you larger diamonds and a design you don't want.

Just to note that a five stone band is not an eternity ring. A eternity ring has diamonds all the way around.
I have a five stone ring with .40 stones in a size 5.5. It is a stand alone right hand ring. A five stone band with .30 diamonds would be beautiful and should work with an engagement ring.
It doesn’t matter what the jeweler thinks or suggests. Tell him what you want and if he doesn’t want to do that, move on. There are several vendors here on PS that would be happy to make that ring for you. I don’t understand why this is an issue - no means no!
