Hello, we are looking at cushion cut stones in a pave setting, 2.5- 3 carats. Any opinions/ feedback on this stone from Blue Nile???
Is this a good price? Should I size down to 2.5 carats for a G color? Any other red flags or positives about this stone?

Many thanks for your help, this is very very confusing!

Can''t tell you anything about a cushion based on stats. IMO it is much better to buy from a vendor who can provide you an expert eye and photos when choosing a fancy diamond. This cushion could be gorgeous or could be a total dog.

thanks for the feedback NeatFreak. Do you have any suggestions in terms of dealers? Also, my thought was if the Blue Nile was not suitable, it could be returned within the 30 days.

Check out engagement rings direct, he is amazing at picking out incredible cushions!!

Ditto. Good Old Gold too.

And yes you can return it, but do you really feel that you''ve seen enough cushions in person to be able to make an objective decision about whether it''s nice or not? Most people haven''t.

That is good advice from Neatfreak.
As each cushion is UNIQUE in shape and there is no recipe or formula for cut that allows you to judge a cushion except by looking at it in comparison with other diamonds, I would advise you to choose by looking at the diamonds in person if at all possible.

As I prefer to say it in pictures whenever possible: here is a picture of some cushion diamonds - you will see that each one is unique in shape!
