Hello PS members,
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and received lots of bling for Christmas!
Thank you for sharing photos and experience, as I've thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your educational threads.

I would like to ask for your expert advice on a vintage OEC diamond (non-certed) in a 18kt solitaire setting that I came across whilst browsing at a reputable Estate Jewelry store. I understand true antique diamonds are individually unique and cannot be based solely off numbers on a lab certificate, and was assured that the stone was graded in-house prior to being set. I feel that the price is slightly on the higher side for a non-certed lower colored stone. The following are photos from the store's website - would you say that the color grading is accurate? How does this stone look - should I trust my eyes?
I'm worried the stone may be too deep, although typical of old cuts... Please feel free to chime in your thoughts - Thank you in advance for any insight!

Old European Cut diamond
1.31 ct approximately "O" color, VVS2
6.67 x 6.77 x 4.52mm
Small table 44.7%
Retail price: $4,890.00 before tax

I'd say it is probably reasonably accurate on color. It's about the diameter of a 1.15 ideal cut round, so like many OECs, the diameter is hurt by the depth. The price looks high to me, though. I'll have to look around to see.

Diamondseeker2006,
Thank you for confirming my thoughts.
You have a lovely OEC that I’ve always admired!
I’ll keep looking and will check back in with the next candidate.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
