this is the first time I'm posting, but pricescope has been an invaluable resource to me over the past few months as my fiance to be and i (read: i) have been designing my e-ring. the look i was going for was the always beautiful and classic HW micropave cushion cut halo ring -- i have loved that ring and wanted to re-create that look. the ring i loved was the one with a 3 ct center stone, but since my center stone ended up being 2.27 ct, i wanted a bit larger halo so it didn't look too small on my finger. i did a lot of research on the size of micropave side stones, and ended up going with 1.2-1.3 mm stones for the shank and 1.6 mm for the halo. a little after the ring was set out for production, i wanted to change the halo stones to a touch smaller at 1.5 mm, but this couldn't be done. when i went to see the ring once it was done, i really liked it, but it seemed really bit and like the halo was a bit chunky. i think part of it may be because i didn't have a tangible ring with a comparable center stone as mine or a halo of that size, so i didn't know what to expect really. also, i think part of me had it in my mind that the halo was going to be too big since i wanted 1.5 mm stones in the end but knew the actual halo stones were bigger.
what i would appreciate your input on is an honest opinion on the look of the ring compared to the HW "inspiration" -- i wanted the halo a bit bigger, but is it too chunky? if so, do you think taking the halo stones down from 1.6 mm to 1.5 mm would even make a difference? is that even possible?
obviously i'm going to need to take some time getting used to the ring and finalizing my opinion on it before changing anything. i'm going to wear it for a few weeks/months to see how i feel, but in the meantime, would appreciate your honest opinion.
thanks!!!!
