Your ring is beautiful, Alicia! The ladies have given you very good advice. Do not leave that store without looking at the ring and stones with a loupe. Ask to see it near a window with more natural light. Everything looks sparkly in jewelry store lighting, even very poor quality stones. I sense NEL really trying to encourage you to get the SP ring instead. If at all possible, I would order both and compare them and keep the one you like best. I know SP has a 30 day return period. Check and see what the jeweler has.

As far as the spacer ring goes, I think you need to wait until you have the wedding band, and then try on bands with it to be sure you like them. I would definitely get your size, though, and not a half size too small or too large.

ok pardon my lack of knowledge everyone. but what is a loupe? and what i am looking for with it?!?!?!
i wish i could bring you all to barmakian with me?~!??
the problem is = my fiance already put down a $500 deposit on the 1ct ring, i loved.
soooooooo if i dont like this new "larger" one, i will go back to the 1ct because i did love it, i just truly wanted larger stones, its very thin - 2.5mm and i wanted something more substantial as i dont plan on upgrading and exchanging it down the line.
i want to keep my w=ring and e=ring forever.
i will try to see it (the new one 2.23ct)in natural light, at a window or something, maybe he''ll let me walk outside with it?
i thought as long as it was g/h or better and vs/si or better that it was quality stuff.
about the cut? what should the cut be? is there a term? so i can ask is it " this " cut?
geeez. now im nervous! lol thank you all again. must go have dinner now! 812p yikes!

Hi Again
So i talked to my fiance and he is going to go to barmakian sat morning (to help his brother find an ering) and while he is there he will take a look at my "new" ring and inspect it for details. I am going in the afternoon. They need their "men time" lol
Adam (my fiance) is very "anal" and very very very thorough, he spent 6 months looking for the 3 princess cut stones in my e-ring as he wanted them all to be EXACTLY the same. cut, color, clarity, dimension, blah blah blah -
I was telling him tonight about what you guys had said to me and to really examine the ring at barmakian & i am was glad he reminded how much detail he took into getting my e-ring and he said he''ll make sure the eternity band is quality.
thank goodness,

as i had no clue what you guys mean by loupe - i can''t wait til sat now, 1) to hear what he says and 2) to go see my ring.
lucky for me - if it is good quality, it IS my size so we dont have to order one to be made. i''ll just get it -
my fiance also said i should just get platinum for the spacer as he knows its what i really want. He''s so good. and thank you all sooo much for posting and commenting and all your feedback> I just discovered this site about a week ago and Im getting addicted! LOL i love it here.

If you need any backup, I'm a block away. And I'm armed with not 1, but 2 loupes, haha. I wish I had an idealscope. They hate me there, though, haha.

ETA: Oops, nevermind, I forgot it was Sat.! I'm glad he's going to look at it, too.

wait! are you really 1 block away?
did you get your ring from Nashua? barmakian in nashua?
Adam asked me that questions specifically>!

I work at downtown crossing in Boston, so I''m a block away from the one in the jeweler''s building. I haven''t been the Nashua location, but I''ve heard the selection is better!

We got the e-ring at SC&L on Boylston, then the wedding band at the Barmakian in the Jeweler''s Building on Washington.

ohhhhhh ok wheww! i thought you meant you got yours at the nashua barmakian.
although you may have just gotten a "bad batch" but still.
i was nervous! didn''t you say you had a friend who got her wedding set at the same place and hers is nice?
i have a friend who was urging me to go to the boston barmakian but we picked nashua as it was closer to where we live, in ayer ma,
is that your ring in your pic? it looks perfect from here!

i can''t wait to tell you how it goes....... im excited. and im so glad adam is going first to "inspect" things for me. LOL

Do you have to pay sales tax for the ring in NH? It''s probably worth it to go there so you don''t have to pay taxes on it. My friends rings were shipped from the downtown store to the Nashua store so they wouldn''t have to pay taxes.

Yes, her rings are beautiful...but I think that hers ar all certified, even the .33s in her 5-stone band, so that makes it easier to really hone in on the cut parameters. It''s riskier with the smaller melee-sized stones (stones under 20 points or so). As I understand it (and I could be wrong), the stones come in little batches sorted by color and clarity. I think at this point the jewelers weed out the not-so-great performing stones. Some jewelers are just more strict that others.

Have a great time on Saturday!! Let us know how it goes!!

will do! i love this site! im becomming addicted. i was just reading the thread with that girl asking if her ring was too big for her finger, and then someone said it looked like a cocktail ring and i think she got offended. LOL yikes.

i do appreciate everyone''s feedback and comments.
oh and NEL, i went to that link for your spacer band but it didn''t bring me to any jeweler - it was more like a computer site.? can you check on it? i loves yours. let me know.
it looks so great with your e-ring (beautiful!) and wedding band

oops, I misspelled it! http://www.trocadero.com/

by the way, I meant to tell you your e-ring is beautiful! Congrats on the engagement! Have fun on Sat.!

thank you for the link NEL, i went there and they had a ruby eternity channel set but it was over $1000 - I THINK 2K OR MORE. for two bands.
part of me thinks i''ll wait til after i get the w-ring and then go to lots of places to try on spacer bands. .........
the other part thinks i should just get a platinum one now if i can find one for reasonable price, i found some around 225-250.
and be done with it. this ring stuff has taken a lot of time and there are so many other wedding plans i need to do as well! geez. so much involved and its not easy
when the bride and groom have no outside assistance. lol
oh well -

i love your spacer too so now im thinking maybe i''ll want one similar. i dont know!??! i also like the look of the researchers ( i think that was her name )
she got just the platinum and it looked great! so many choices! lol
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN. I LOVE THIS SITE.
