Advice between two round diamonds

Hi everybody,

I need to make a decision between 2 stones. I was given a video of the 2 and here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/diamondinfoman#p/u/0/Fra3hRCAIUI

The one on the right is a 1.14 VS1 F cut ideal symmetry ideal and polish excellent.

The one on the right is 1.07 VS1 E ideal ideal ideal.

About the brillance, sparkle and fire I'm conviced the 1.14 does as well as the 1.07. What I'm concerned about is the colour (F vs E). It seems to me that the colour is quite different and that the F colour is quite yellowish for a F. Is it just me? Am I imagining this?

The 1.07 is also 2000 dollars more. Let me know if you think that difference in price is worth it, also considering the 1.07 stone is a bit smaller, but the lady does not mind too much as long as it is above 1.00.

Thank you very much

I would absolutely go for the 1.14 on the sole reason that the other is 2000 more just because of one color grade increase. Honestly I don't see any "yellow" in that diamond at all it is stunning, beautifully cut, bigger and cheaper than the other one. You wont really start seeing "yellow" until you get into LMO range even J and K don't look yellow only "warmer" I think if had the two diamonds side by side it would be almost impossible for me to tell them apart in terms of color. So save the 2000 and buy the 1.14, you could put the savings into amazing setting for that stunning diamond.

Thanks Future Mrs Williamson. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. I've been looking for a diamond for so long that I'm starting to imagine things and get overly picky! :)

I agree with Future Mrs. W. Just based on the info you posted and the video, I would go with the larger stone. I have F colored diamond earrings and they are crisp white, no yellow whatsoever. The $2000 jump wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. Good luck!

yes we have yet to find a cure for pricescope-itis.... :D I have actually had a jeweler tell me to stop obsessing over small details

have you thought about settings at all yet?

Oh, both are equally beautiful but I would absolutely go for the F stone because it is visibly larger.

Agree with everyone so far - go for the F and save the $2000.00! Gorgeous stone!
One additional point- you can't go wrong dealing with Jon at GOG. He is wonderful and trustworthy! Good luck!

Thanks all. Yes I definitely caught pricescope-itis :)). As for the setting I will get a custom design. I will set it first in basic setting to propose then come back to the jeweler with my partner and have him create what she wants. She has very specific taste so like this I can't go wrong. And I already found the Jeweler who agreed to do this. All I need now is to find the right stone :).

You are my favorite!!!!!!!!!! I wish my DH had done this!!

You still seem to be waffling on the stone, I love the 1.14 ct from GOG. What are you looking for exactly? Maybe we can help you look?
