Advice Appreciated: Value of Radiant diamond?

I have come accross a beautiful stone and would like to know the aproximate wholesale value of the following Radiant cut diamond?

Value is a tough thing to estimate frankly. Even our appraiser who looked at our Radiant selections had a hard time valuating them!

This cut would fall under the 3B cut class, according to the AGA charts. It's too deep and has too large of a table to be ideally cut. Also the thickness of the girdle will do that as well. It is usually preferable to have excellent polish and excellent symmetry, however with this stone, the cut parameters are so wide that good will usually suffice for a purchase.

Pricing something of this nature is also difficult. When I search on-line and off, my numbers where completely contrasting. I searched for a 1.5-2.0 ct. Some stones with LOWER cuts sold for more per carat (color/clarity being the same), and it all depended on WHO is selling it. For the SAME diamond (GIA #'s matched) I got a quote from a retailer that was almost $4.5K HIGHER than the on-line store. SAME STONE.

For the Average price per carat, I get $4,825 * 1.51cts = $7,285.75

For the lowest price /carat I get $4,358 * 1.51cts = $6,580.58

These are all just rough estimates, and again depends on where you purchase the stone, and of course the cut quality and clarity lowers the price a bit. Either way, I hope this helped!

I would estimate this 1.51 G/SI 1 to cost about $7K on the net and a bit more, maybe $8-8.5K on a B&M store.

But... I would stress the importance of a very good make, and this stone seems to have a large table coupled with fairly high depth %, and the thick to very thick girdle may be hiding some extra weight on the bottom, thus making the face-up appeareance smaller than its actual weight.
