So I wanted to buy a piece of jewellery to mark an important milestone. I’ve got a real hankering after OECs these days. And I wanted some earrings to go with my OEC three stone ring.

I’ve previously bought antique old cuts but thought I’d broaden out to modern stones cut in an antique style. And have no regrets!

So without further ado - pics:

I love them as is because I think they're more versatile being smaller, like with 3 they're more formal looking to me... but I wear my diamond tennis necklace, tennis bracelet, rings etc with my leggings and t-shirt everyday so who am i to say... LOL!

Oh they are fab and look GREAT on you!! You have a great set there!

Beautiful.

Yes please! :lickout:

HI:

Right up my alley! Gorgeous!

cheers--Sharon

Perfect! Can you reveal who made the settings? How did you decide on your setting style, which is stunning. Enjoy!

Love !! Thanks also for sharing the vendor! I’ve been curious about his stones

That vendor seems to have lots of gorgeous in his inventory. Your new earrings are fabulous!!

Absolutely stunning! What a beautiful way to mark a milestone! Enjoy!!

Omg drop dead gorgeous. Where did the stones come from if you don’t mind? I have been hunting for a certain size of old mine for like 7 years having them cut didn’t even occur to me.

Lovely! Beautiful on you too!

Wow! They’re stunning!!

Love! <3

I have a jeweller in dubai (who I think I singlehandedly keep afloat!). I really love their work. I usually send them a bunch of inspo photos and we go through a couple of CADs. I’ve been working with them a long time now so they know my likes and dislikes really well.

I was tempted to go with platinum (especially given the price of gold these days) but I’m not that keen on the patina right next to my face - anything grey-ish doesn’t go well with my skin tone at all unfortunately. And I think for earrings gold is a bit lighter to wear. These are so comfortable I think I could sleep in them.

I didn’t have them custom cut but there is a diamond dealer in Hong Kong who has a wide selection of unusually cut stones (elongated shapes, kites, lower colours, new old cuts). I bought from him a lot. Everything is GIA certed. I’m sure I could find cheaper but the prices are still very reasonable IMO. It’s T-Star limited or Fancycolour_diamonds on Instagram.

I’ve never needed to return anything though so no clue how that would work. Hence only buying diamonds from him not coloured stones which are a bit more subjective to evaluate sight unseen.

I’ve no doubt they could cut whatever you wanted. They only sell natural diamonds btw. No lab.

These were the inspo pics. But the stones are warmish anyway so I didn’t want to add the yellow gold and I wanted them as light as possible.

Beautiful!

These are gorgeous! Love everything about them, the proportions of the top to the bottom stones, the setting, the movement of the setting, and the OECs.

Congrats on you milestone! What a bling-tastic way to mark it.

Thank you. I finally managed to pay off my mortgage. I was extra proud because I did it all on my own too. It isn’t worth a lot of money, or in a place where people want to live (very rural), but it means a lot to me to know I will always at least have a roof over my head in my old age that no one can take away from me. I guess now it’s time to start saving up a deposit for another mortgage - it would be nice to have an apartment that I could rent out for a bit of income when I am older.
