Does anyone know if it is easy to add satin finish to a platinum wedding band? My husband has a beat up platinum band that used to have a polished finish and he mentioned wanting to get the satin (not brushed) finish. Where would you suggest that I get this done? Would it be costly? Any advice is highly appreciated!

Hi Lunemo,
Yes, on a plain band it is easy. I do it all the time on my polishing lathe which turns it at slow speed. A shop will have different grits of sandpaper and they should be able to show you a finish you like.
Good Luck!

In case you don't want to DIY: My jeweler will change the polish of a band for free. I think even if your jeweler charges you, it shouldn't be very expensive and can be done quickly. Just FYI, the satin finish doesn't last very long and you'll end up with something between a satin and a polished finish after awhile.

A jeweler can do it for very little money. I can't remember but think it was less than $20.

Thanks everyone for being so helpful! :saint:
