Adding “fun” to a cathedral setting?

Hey friends. No, I haven’t picked a center stone still but I’m browsing settings now. I currently have a cathedral setting (see pics) and I love how my wedding band sits flush. With thinking of upgrading my ring, I’m curious on thoughts of a new cathedral setting and adding something “fun” to it while still getting light to the LGD and having a flush wedding band or if it’s not worth it. I love the way they look from some angles but then others it can look a lot more bulky. Would still go for a plain band, just wondering if a hidden halo or surprise diamond(s) would be fun.

I like the photo below the best, minus the hidden halo. Only because I’m not fond of settings that make it hard for me to keep the pavilion clean. Not saying they aren’t beautiful because they are, all of them, I like cathedrals a lot and you’ve picked some really classy inspo!

Being able to keep it clean is also something I'm considering. I also sort of like being able to see the whole pavilion just because it looks sort of cool too. That one and the whiteflash are my favorites from the bunch when I look at them again.

The Vatche Caroline (the first setting) is my favorite of all these. Hidden halo without the diamonds on the bridge which would scratch a flush-fitting wedding band.

Do you think that would affect brilliance at all? With it covering the diamond that way?

No, not at all. In a well-cut diamond, light goes into the top of the diamond and reflects back out the top.
