Ellen, like yourself, I am happy she got what she wanted. I just think it''s sad she had to go through such an experience in the first place. What ever happened to honoring one''s commitment without reservation, particularly when you are in the business of taking someones money in exchange for a product, at what can only be imagined for profit? One should never have to beg to get to part with one''s hard earned dollars. Sort of cheapens the buying experience to me. Sorry for feeling so jaded..........
lol I feel like we''re having a reverse discussion here. (think back to another thread)

Trust me, I''m NOT sticking up for the jeweler. I wholeheartedly agree, one''s word should be as good as a handshake. She should never have had to go through this. I guess I thought that went without saying.

I was only happy for her, as she got her hearts desire. That''s all.

Sorry Ellen.....wasn''t trying to sparr with you and you are absolutely right. We are both happy she got her hearts desire and that is what is most important!!

Oh no, that''s not what I thought at all. We are both on the same page when it comes to jewelers. I''ll leave it at that.

i''m so happy to hear things are going to work out!! i can''t wait to see the final results! it''s going to be beyond fab!

I''m glad it worked out for you sunkist. ITA with Rod also...sad it had to take all that work just to get what you wanted but I guess what matters in the end is that you''ll be wearing exactly what you wanted

I''m glad it worked out for you Sunkist, though sorry you had to deal with them going back on their word and having to drop the name Pricescope to see that a large jewelry forum community would be hearing about this!! In the end, what matters is that you are getting the ring you want, and I hope you love it!!

Sunkist,

I just got home and saw your post-- what an ordeal today for you! Sorry about what ''almost'' happened. I''m glad that Maria straightened it out for you bc she''s the one I was dealing with and she''s been pretty good about things so far or as far as I know at least since I''m now out of the loop on whether or not the bf is even dealing with Locke''s.

How exciting that your bf is ready to proceed now!! Even though some people don''t understand how you feel about the setting- I DO. I completely understand the agony and am glad that it is settled and you are happy now. I don''t have another setting that I love as much as the Locke''s one even after looking at tons and tons of settings.

Making a duplicate of the Locke''s setting is not necessarily as easy as it sounds -- someone on here did have one made (I can''t remember who it is right now) and I remember them commenting once they saw Matatora''s photos that perhaps they should''ve gone with the original after all. I think that implied that a duplicate is not as easy it would appear but who knows... Just like how simple the Tiffany sig. setting APPEARS but I honestly don''t see great repros.

Can''t wait for your updates!!

DL, I 100% completely agree with the sentiment that once you find a setting you love, it would be devastating to lose it! It's just too much agony to make a decision in the first place! (I missed the person who tried to copy the Lockes setting, though. I wonder if they posted pictures? Do you know?)

ETA: DL, I did find a post where someone was copying KristyDarlings old setting (before the Leon) and hers was a 4 prong copy of the Lockes. I do like the 6 prong more due to the more delicate prongs. It was interesting to see it, though.

DS,

The posting is from someone who is frequently on PS but I just can''t remember the name-- I think they didn''t do an exact repro but used the Locke''s setting as an inspiration but commented that perhaps they should''ve just gone with the original. It''s somewhere in Matatora''s Locke''s thread but that thing had so many pages I may not delve through there to find the exact post -- perhaps some other day.

Yeppers, that was me! Good memory.

My Lockes inspired ring was nice, but not *quite* what I was hoping for. I think my takeaway from that experience is that if you''re really lusting after something, get the real thing and not an imitation. I''m so glad that Sunkist will be getting exactly what she wants!!!

Too funny! I was editing my post at the same time you two posted! I found the thread about someone trying to copy Kristy''s ring!

KristyDarling,

Thank you! I didn''t want to go through the extensive photo **** that was Matatora''s Locke''s thread ((however pleasant it would''ve been) *grin* but I did remember it was one of the ''core'' PS posters.

Thank you everyone for sharing in my excitement! I too am sorry that I had to go through a morning of agony to be re-approved. And I feel so sorry for my BF that he had to go back and forth with them and have them tell him there was no way we could have it set. It is the setting I want though and I feel like any other setting just wouldn''t have been "the one". Kristy I remember you talking about your Lockes inspired ring and so that is one of many reasons I wanted to go with the original. Plus, I thought they''d appreciate my honest business

. I was very happy with their apology and wanting to be on good terms with me. I hope everything is smooth with them from here on out. Really, Maria was very, very nice the entire time we talked on the phone today. She really helped me out on this one! I guess they are kind of turning into a "Tiffany''s" type store

in that they want to keep their level high by only setting their own stones. They don''t really know the PS troup though if they think we can''t pick a killer stone!! hehe, yes I think my stone is awesome
31.gif
So don''t worry, hopefully in a month I''ll be posting pics!

*WHEW!*

Sooooooooooooo glad this is working out for you. That Locke''s setting is beaut-a-teous and nothing else would have done it!

Congrats, and I cannot WAIT to see photos!!!

Hehe! Yes, PS does have an influential power. I didn''t actually mention the forum until after she called me back and told me the stone was approved. Now if it had gotten down to it, I may have desperately tried that as a last resort ammo, but I''m thinking it wouldn''t have helped really. Haha! She was very responsive when I mention you guys though and they love you all! I know it''s because you are all so sweet

I hope they realize though that we like to pick out our OWN stones
