all,

what is considered acceptable culet size? is a medium culet able to be seen with the naked eye (and if so, when casually looking or just when "really" looking). HCA asks for culet % in their grading. how do you convert from a GIA of "medium" to a % range? all the same questions for "slightly large" which is my other option.

while i am looking at a cushion cut, where culets are more common, the look of a visible culet is unappealing to me.

advice much appreciated.

According to AGS the culet size for a Zero cut grade is:
Pointed (none), Very small, Small or Medium. Can you see a medium size culet? That depends on your eyes but only "when "really" looking". When you get to slightly large you are looking at a little hole that only grows as the culet gets larger.
