A friend of mine just showed me her gemmological appraisal report and it says under culet is "None, Abraded".

Isn''t the culet the point at the bottom? She has a point at the bottom. What is abraded? Is it internal or external?

'Abrazion' is external always. Could this mean that the bloody cullet was reduced to oblivion by abrazion? I guess. the only bad thing about this could be an unpolished patch instead of pointy cullet which could be seen as a speck through the table, but my guess is that the thing is so small that this is a non issue. If this makes sense, the only way to see is to look... at the stone, I guess.

An abraded culet is not chipped, nicked, scratched or any other thing that has a more definitive name. Whatever it is, it is so small that I would not worry about it.
