I should be getting my stone in tomorrow. I have a question about settings and getting diamonds mounted. There is a local B&M store that I am considering buying my setting from and I plan on letting them mount the diamond if I do. The only problem is that it was a while back that I actually saw the setting and can't remember exactly how much I liked it now.

If for some reason I decide not to go with this store, would it be a bad decision to purchase the setting online and take it somewhere to get the ring put together? I know it is probably better to have someone you are doing business with to mount it, but has anyone ever done this before. Also, does anyone know any places in North Mississippi/Memphis area that does good work?
