Project 1:

As you all know, I had a hella time trying to get something nice for a sphene I have. The setting I initially purchased well.. we all know about that. At any rate, I sent it back and with prompting from paypal I got my money back. In the meantime I purchased a setting from American Set co.

First let me say the setting is really freaking heavy! Its 4 grams and feels like it! The diamonds are brilliant cut, and they rate them a G. They are very white and sparkly. I got very good quality for the price and I''m very happy. Its now a matter of getting the darn stone set!

I''ve got my eye on another setting by them

Nice setting. Is the first one for the sphene?

BTW, none of these are set just yet. I go to the jeweler''s tomorrow for a big discussion.

Yeah. Since its only going to be for occassional wear I wanted something that really worked with it. Its jewler approved.

Next up is the 5mm LOGR setting. Its very nice. I didn''t upgrade the diamonds and they look white to me. My only dilema is what the heck do I set in it?

My setting is under Antique Settings. You can also look under 14k Settings.

The rhodolite looks better than tourmaline in that setting. The colour pops.

Next up are fireball pics!

I got another LOGR setting. Again the diamonds are very bright and clean. I considered an american set setting for this but I was looking for something a bit on the cheaper side.

Yeah I know. I love the color of that thing. Its a bit bigger at 5.5 and the tourmaline is 5 even so the rhoddie will sit a bit higher. should be ok though I''m guessing.

Though now I don''t know what the heck to do with the darn tourmaline!

The spessartite is a perfect fit in the setting with the bezeled diamonds. Boy, can it really stand on its own against a white metal and diamonds. Be patient with the tourmaline. The right setting will come along...my gut feel is that it will require a yellow metal setting.
