A question about Inscription damage?

Hi all,

what is the general feel towards inscription on the girdle, does it cause damage to the stone in general? does it depend on the inscriptor and how they perform it? does it depend on the thickness of the girdle?

Any pointers would be appreciated!

It is possible for an inscription machine to damage the girdle edge of a diamond, for this reason I prefer machines which use cold laser technology.

Girdle thickness dictates the size of the inscription and the amount of characters, but has little to do with the potential for damage since the inscription is applied by laser.
