Thanks everyone!! Really appreciate your opinions. After looking at all the pictures of haloed rings on PS, I was starting to feel an onset of DSS.. Is this normal?!

VERY normal, sadly. I don't wear my rings a lot, but that helps me with my DSS, bec then it looks huge when I do wear it.

I agree that not haloing it is a good way. That is a NICE princess, and I love the current setting.

Please, no halo! It's perfect as is. Agree with Ame, this is a very nice princess in a setting with nice clean lines. Don't change a thing!!!

And DSS is very normal, why do you think that phrase (as far as I know) was coined here on PS?

I like a halo as much as anyone else, but halo that ring and it will look like you are trying too hard. I almost feel it will cheapen the look. Leave it as is, and you will have a lovely, elegant ring.

My 2c.

Your ring is very elegant, congratulations! (I wouldn't halo it later on, btw. I think it's perfect as is).

Please leave it alone!!! It is beautiful right now, so why fix it? Besides, not all halos are equal. I agree with the other reply, the best cure for DSS is to not wear your ring for a week or two, then when you do wear it, your eyes and mind will reward you with how HUGE your ring actually is. Works every time for me! :D Also, you cannot tease us with just one pic of that beauty. Could we have some hand shots please??? :naughty:

ETA: you beat me to the hand shot. Wow!

Yeah, I'll say it. Halo it, and I'll beat you with a stick.

Seriously, you'd be CRAZY to halo it. It's perfect!!!!

Can I be honest? I'm not really loving your choice for a potential wedding band with your e-ring. I would do a thin diamond band or a plain band. Of course, get what you love but I just thought that I would put my 2c out there (not that anyone asked for it!).

Well, I guess I don't need to add that I agree with leaving it alone! It's truly beautiful the way it is, very classic and elegant. I think that you may be one of those cases where a halo actually makes the diamond appear smaller instead of larger.

I have to agree with stargirl, I'm not crazy about the choice of wb either. I think that a gorgeous engraved ring like this maybe..
http://www.victorcanera.com/jewelry/bands/platinum-eternity-band-with-hand-engraving.html

or maybe a thin plain band and a diamond band that matches the shank of your ering, but I wouldn't try to add a large eternity, it just competes with your diamond.

Yeah I think I agree with you guys.. The WB looks amazing alone but looks overwhelming next to my E-ring.. Thoughts on WB? I wanted something sparkly and unique.. :twirl:

I agree that your e-ring looks fab as it is! No halo needed (and this coming from someone who loves halos). I also agree that a simple wedding band would look wonderful with your e-ring: maybe a thin, simple eternity band (1.8-2mm)? From a design standpoint, the simpler look makes more sense with the solitaire. But I do understand the desire for a unique/bolder wedding band, though. I guess the big question is do you want to look at your rings and see them as a unified piece, or look at them both separately? If you want a unified look, then a simple band is best because then the wedding band complements the e-ring. If the wedding band is more complex and/or bigger, then your eye will look at the rings separately. Ultimately, go with what you'll enjoy looking at most. :)

ETA: I just checked out Christina's link and love that look. It's simple and understated, but unique, too!

I haven't felt the overwhelming need to log in on this site and comment for a while... but damn this is a BEAUTIFUL ring! It is an absolutely perfect diamond... congratulations, I definitely wouldn't change the ring in any way it's perfect as is. I would definitely suggest a thinner wedding band, match the band on the e-ring if possible... I would not do anything to detract from the perfection of that diamond! I'd get some additional, bigger bands later if you want the extra bling, at least then it is easier to chop and change.

DSS is normal after browsing this site, lol! Don't halo your ring! It's stunningly classic and a lovely piece. Adding a halo make make it a bit garish, IMHO. I think it's one of the prettiest rings I've seen on this site, honestly. Congrats! :))

Your e-ring's band is very dainty, and your diamond is a showstopper, so you don't want a wedding band that will overpower the simple elegance of your ring or compete for attention.

Here are a few that I came across with a quick search. I don't know if they're your style per say, but hey, there are worse ways to spend my weekend morning than by browsing diamond rings with a coffee in hand ;-)

With diamonds:

1. Jeff Cooper Triple Row Diamond Wedding Band: http://www.since1910.com/wedding-rings/jeff-cooper/jeff-cooper-triple-row-diamond-wedding-band-rp1500b-pi3714.aspx

2. Jeff Cooper Fitted Wedding Band: http://www.since1910.com/wedding-rings/jeff-cooper/jeff-cooper-fitted-diamond-wedding-band-r3096b-pi3687.aspx (Will a staright band sit flush against your ring? Do you care about a gap? I'm partial to this ring b/c it reminds me of my own ;p).

3. Tacori Crested Diamond Wedding Band: http://www.since1910.com/wedding-rings/tacori/tacori-crescent-diamond-wedding-band-472et-pi3089.aspx

4. Henry Daussi Set Pave Diamond Band: http://www.since1910.com/wedding-rings/henri-daussi/henri-daussi-pave-set-diamond-wedding-band-db24-pi2801.aspx

5. Infinity Twist Micropave Diamond Ring: http://www.bluenile.com/white-gold-wedding-ring_21483 (This might be too much next to your e-ring, but darn if it isn't super pretty!)

6. Channel Set Princess Cut Diamond Ring: http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-wedding-ring-platinum_12761 (very complimentary to your solitaire!).

7. Pave Sapphire and Diamond Ring: http://www.bluenile.com/sapphire-diamond-ring_21209 (Should a little bit of color interest you!)

Plain rings, no diamonds:

1. Classic Wedding Band: http://www.bluenile.com/wedding-ring-white-gold_6663

2. Celeste Wedding ring: http://www.bluenile.com/wedding-ring-platinum_19917

3. Hammered Ring in Rose Gold: http://www.bluenile.com/hammered-rose-gold-wedding-stack-ring_21263 (Again, for color and texture).

Hope that helps you come up with an idea! :)

THANKS A MILLION!!!! I love love love the infinity twist (sigh!) and the sapphire one!! I showed the fiancé and he likes both, so we're a step closer to picking my WB~

I have to vote no halo either. Your ring is gorgeous. I think a halo would take away from your beautiful diamond.

Ummmmm What an amazing ring! I mean ah-may-zinggggg!

In fact I hope you have some profile shots or some more information about the setting that the lovely princess for a princess sits in?!
I am doing some serious setting research and I would love to have some info on this beautiful one as I am also setting a princess!

Thanks!
