Finally able to create a thread for this. Despite being a longtime lurker, I admired the stones from the thread dedicated to paraibas that @Acinom created and dreamt of having one eventually. Through PS, I learned about Yvonne Raley and found her paraibas more attainable from a pricing standpoint and the positive reviews here gave me confidence to pull the trigger on a purchase. This particular stone is 1.12 ct and came with an AGL report with origin. The discount from one of Yvonne’s sales was enough to motivate me to click ‘purchase’ on my phone one day. And like that, I finally had a Paraiba of my own! In person, the stone was as pictured and shown in Yvonne’s video, perhaps even more glowy than I imagined.
I knew the stone would be small so to maximize finger coverage I wanted a haloed ring. I perused David Klass’s Instagram for inspiration and found a halo plus milgrained bezel I liked and asked him to combine with shank and gallery details from other rings he’d made. As usual his response was fast and price was reasonable. I think he had CADs to me within a week and I had no revisions. I was in no rush and realized he probably had holiday orders so I told him this could get bumped to next year if he was busy. To my surprise, I got an email a few weeks later saying my ring was shipping! From start to finish, this project took like a month.
I purchased this as a push present to myself and so I had the ring to wear for the holidays and right before my baby girl arrived.
Below are David’s glamour shots and my attempts to capture the glow despite it being rainy/cloudy outside this week. Sorry for the pic overload!
