It was a warm and sunny day in NYC today. My daughter and I were walking down 5th Ave and stopped into Cartier to look at the rings, diamonds, necklaces, etc. They sure do have some exotic stuff.

I always wanted to see the Destinee ER in person and the same for the Trinity rings. Cartier has a video on their website and through youtube, it has over 3 million hits on the Destinee ER. They must have had no less than 20 of the rings in the display. They were beautiful, very dainty, thin shank and sparkled like crazy, the prices are out of this world, but as far as looks, it was a wow!

I had a different opinion of the Trinity rings, I just looked at 2 of the classic styles, the extra small and the small. I was expecting to be wowed, but I was underimpressed. I thought the 3 rings blended together, and just did not stand out as anything special. Please don't flame me, it was just my opinion. Would suggest anyone who wants to buy the Trinity ring, go to Cariter and try it on first. I am attaching 2 pics that I took on my daughters hand she has very small fingers, I would guess a size 4 ring.

I definitely agree with you about trying the Trinity on in person first (I'm the one that resurrected the old thread when I bought mine last week). I'll also agree that from a distance, it can just look like a simple gold band. I needed a low-profile band to wear for work so I liked that it was unique, yet simple at the same time. And trying anything on at Cartier can't hurt :)

Same with me, I tried one on and it just didn't look right on me. I see all the pictures on here that look fabulous but. It just didn't do it in person.

I agree with you and I own one!

I actually own the ultra slim one, which is the thinnest you can get (even thinner than the one your daughter tried on). I agree that the bands can blend in and you lose the separate identity/color of each band, esp. in my ring's size and with my skin color. I also found that the thicker ones gave me finger muffin top, even though my finger is slim at a 3.5 or 3.75. In the end, I do like the ring because it was a Mother's Day present and very sentimental, and it stacks well on my short finger with my ering.

 muffin top. I've actually thought that too with those really big ones.

I have the xs and love it. Its amazing with my e ring, yet no slouch on its own. The colors do blend somewhat sometimes, bit I like that about it. Is it yellow gold? Is it rose? What's going on over there! Haha. I like that about the band. Honestly its my favorite purchase.

This made me laugh! Funny

I had my own "what's going on over there" moment once with someone else's Trinity. My son's pulmonologist wears one and before I got a good look at it and saw the Cartier stamp, I would obsessively try to get a good look at his finger every time he touched my son during examinations. I wanted to give him a secret Trinity ring salute once I confirmed it was Cartier.
