Hello!

Here is what happened. I was looking through some of my grandma's boxes in the basement, when I found this very interesting piece of jewelry. Now, I know a decent amount about jewelry, but I have no idea where to even start with this vintage oddity. First, it appears to be made with a hand painted piece of textured glass as the centerpiece. Second, it is signed W Germany (Probably stands for West Germany). Now here is the weird part. Did anyone notice yet that the signature is mirrored, because I sure did. Can anyone give me a little information on this puzzling piece of German jewelry?

Re my quick Google search, if it's of any help to you:

Germany was split into east and west from 1949-1990.

Apparently, many materials were used in costume jewelry in this period.

Here's one that looks similar to yours on the back.

I don't know what you mean by "the signature is mirrored."

Ah, wait. Now I see what you mean by "mirrored." Here's one where "W. Germany" also mirrored or something like it anyway, also from ebay. But I have no idea why, either.
