A moonstone and a padparadscha sapphire

I wanted to wait until I could take better pictures but I'm putting these up to brighten my rainy cold day.

The pad is from the always lovely Brad of TGT, it's heat only. Sri Lanka origin.

The moonstone is probably my favorite that I've owned, it's just a beautiful strong transparent blue. Also Sri Lanka origin.

You know there is so much BLUE sheen coming off the moonstone that its hard to believe its a moonstone and not a blue stone! They are both absolutely lovely.

Both stones are so pretty, but I don't think I've ever seen a moonstone quite like that. The blue is so deep!

Sure! I'll do a photo shoot later when I have time for more than quick phone pics. Good moonstones look nothing like what is sold in mainstream jewelry, and it took me a lot of searching (an an amazing brother to snag it for me).

Okay! I'm back and I took pics in every light I could except outside ( it's pouring rain).

Obviously the stone comes to its bluest and best when against the black velvet but it more than holds its own under my crappy house light bulbs too.

I feel like I'm neglecting the sapphire but her day will come when I get some sun here. Under most conditions the blue billowing effect on the moonstone takes up the entire surface and I just adore that.

I believe Finewater Gems has some nice moonstones right now. I had already found my stone before I thought to ask Gary but he does have a few!
