Can you tell me if this is a good diamond. It is from James Allen: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?cid=53&item=633147

Here are the specs:
$5710
Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 1.00
Cut: Signature Ideal
Color: E
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: GIA

Depth: 72.8%
Table: 62%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Very Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.53*5.51*4.01
Ratio: 1.00

They also sent me another report which shows these other specs:
Crown Angle: 43.0
Crown Height: 15.7
Pavil Angle: 37.9
Pavil Depth: 54.6
Girdle Thickness: 2.0%

Table off 0.4%
Culet Off 0.3%

Here is the pic of the diamond magnified, with this note from the designer:
ps - the tiny specs are some dust that is on the surface of the stone - you''ll actually need a microscope to see the inclusions in this VS1 diamond

Here is the idealscope:

That stone certainly looks to have potential from the numbers. I am unable to see the idealscope you posted and when I follow the link to James Allen I found that you have to request a copy of the idealscope. I would certainly have them eye ball the stone for you and give you their opinion on it. Is there a reason that you are looking at a diamond with such high color and clarity?

GIA does not name the word "Princess" on their certs. and what is "Signature Ideal" all about? and some numbers on the angles dont make sense!!!

It doesnt mean that it is not a gorgeous Diamond!!!

I don''t know why you can''t see it, I can see it. Sorry bout that. I requested it from their website and they sent it to me right away.

We were actually looking for a G VS1, but came across this one and thought we would check it out.

Thanks!

That is not from the cert, it is from the website. Signature Ideal is James Allen top of the line diamonds.

Can you tell the difference between Signature and regular?

Their signature is a way they rate their cut, so it goes Signature, then Ideal, then Preimum, so on. A good thing with their Signatures are they give you 100% trade in value later, which we are hoping to later upgrade.

Does this diamond look okay?

Or there is this one I like to:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?cid=130&item=620426

Price: $6280 (cheaper through PS)

Item Number: 8854497
Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 1.11
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: GIA

Depth: 73.3%
Table: 72%
Polish: Excellent - Ideal
Symmetry: Excellent - Ideal
Girdle: Medium
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.94*5.74*4.21
Ratio: 1.03
Without knowing all the other info, does this look like a better diamond than the first one I posted? I really don''t think I need an E color, I prefer to get a G that is a little bigger.

What is wrong with this one, if anything?
