Its beautiful! I have a similar shape sapphire, almost the same size and I have it set in platinum with a 1/4 princess diamond on each side.

I think traps would work well too. I think that stone is screaming for a white metal with side diamonds

And CONGRATS on being sober for 5 years. That is a HUGE accomplishment. Wear that stone proudly. You have earned it. And big thumbs up to your husband for honoring that accomplishment!

It looks "cushiony" to me ... which makes me think of pear sides ... traps seem so "angular" for a scrumptiously soft silhouette like this.. hmmmmm.

Thanks for appreciating my sobriety!! I'm glad my husband regognizes the accomplishment as well - considering he never new me before sobriety (THANK GOD!) LOl, or we would have never met! I quit when I was 25 and pretty much left the bar scene - what's single girl to do if there's no bar to meet guys at?

Congratulations, that is really an accomplishment to be proud of! What a beautiful present, scrumptious color. I think traps or baguettes would be very pretty especially since your ring already has pave and a halo, I would keep it simple. Claw prongs from leon would always be nice.
