And the punchline is... I don't have enough diamonds!

I see so many posts asking about color comparisons that I wanted to add my 3 babies! I thought this would be fun since I have a GIA D, GIA J, and GIA W/X. All 3 have different cuts (OEC, Princess/square brilliant and oval) and all 3 are in different golds (14k white, 18k rose, 18k yellow). What fun!

First image is taken in direct California sunlight. (Yes yes I know this isn't the most flattering, but I wanted to show them all together in different environments).

Second image is also taken under direct sunlight:

Third photo is taken under bright white lights in the grocery store:

Fourth photo is taken under white light in the grocery store:

white light top view 2.jpg

Fifth photo is a side view to show the different gold types, and to *try* and get a pavilion shot. You can't really see the color from the side, but it's fun anyways. :) Also under white light.

And that's it! Thanks for looking :)

All gorgeous & swoonsome, but also a fantastic visual tool for the colour grades!

Aww thank you so much! I feel like my collection is so small and meager compared to other PS'ers. :)

That was great and confirmed in my mind that I must be the least color sensitive person ever because except for direct sunlight I didn't think the J looked that much different from the D. Good for my budget I suppose :)

thanks! I think the same! I think it's a "high J" to be fair, but I always thought she was pretty white and bright too. :D

It's videos like these that make me keep buying diamonds over and over. <3

Congratulations on a lovely collection!

Would you be able to also share the ctw and your finger size? it's always hepful to have a sense of proportion.

Lovely trio!

Hi! I'm so glad you posted pix of your trio of beauties.
Especially the W/X set in yellow gold.
I have been looking for an "end of the alphabet" old cut stone to set in yellow gold and that is just the look I'm going for. :wavey:

How beautiful! I wish there was a bright-grocery-store-light arm attachment.

Of course! Thank you for your kind words Mrs-B!

The top is the OEC
5.54 x 5.59 x 2.96 (.56 carat)
D, SI2 with medium blue fluor
14k white gold

The middle is the princess/square modified brilliant
5.50 x 5.28 x 4.06 (1.00 carat)
J, SI2 with no fluor
18k rose gold

The last is the oval
6.98 x 5.21 x 3.50
W/X, IF with faint Fluor
18k yellow gold

They are all shown on my 4.25 finger :) I usually wear the OEC and the oval on my right hand, which is a 5.25 but for picture purposes they are shown on my left :)

I know! I looked silly but a girl has to do what she has to do to get the good diamond shot ;-)
