A few new rings - picture overload!

Apologies in advance for the picture overload!

A few months ago I had a Purple Sapphire, Aquamarine and Mahenge Spinel set. The settings fr the sapphire and aqua are from Lan.bo4 and I have to say that I am incredibly pleased with the quality (especially of the triple halo).

So here they are:

First up is my absolute favourite. I just adore this gemstone and setting! I'm quite sure the setting would look better with an emerald cut stone but hey ho! The purple sapphire is natural, unheated and untreated. It's an amazing stone as it sometimes look deep fuscia pink and at other times it's a luscious royal purple. I've taken a number of photos to show you the differences. I love love love this stone.

Here's the Aquamarine. You may remember that I won this in one of Tan's auctions for next to nothing! I had no hopes for it at all but just look at how blue it is! WOW. I love the colour.

Lastly, this is another of Tan's bargain basement gemstones! This one is a Mahenge Spinel that's slightly sleepy and slightly orangey red/pink. It's still very vibrant but definitely not top quality. I had this setting made for a diamond but I didn't like the look so I've recycled it with this stone.

Just to compare the settings, this is platinum with VS diamonds. If you look at Lan.bo4's settings you'd be hard pressed to see much difference!

I love that blingy three layer halo for the luscious purple sapphire. Really nice! The aqua is so blue, and I mean that in a good way, not a lot of grey in that particular aqua and it actually has color!! You have three lovely new rings.

I’m not surprised to see why you love that purple sapphire; the colour is indeed rich in your pictures. That aquamarine is quite surprisingly blue rather than the usual washed out saturation too.

I'm amazed how many people like the purple sapphire because I know it's not everybody's cup of tea. Some people shy away from purple sapphires because they can look like Amethyst (and I can understand that) but I searched high and low for one (and returned more than I care to remember) until I found this baby!

The Aqua was a complete surprise also. It really has hardly any grey tones (and if it passes the "TL Grey" test then it's got to be good)! I'm not sure why Tan let this one go to auction but I'm glad he did.
