at girdle, but how can it be scratched if it doesn't make contact with another diamond? isn't a diamond the hardest substance on earth? what other material can scratch a diamond?...
It might look like a scratch but it’s a chip. Nothing can “scratch” a diamond except another diamond, but a hit against something might chip it. So if you were, for eg, to hit the diamond against a metal pin or screw, it’s the impact that would cause a fracture chip rather than the steel “cutting into” the diamond.
If you wear various stack rings with diamonds, if you store your jewelry all together, if you clean your jewelry all together, so there is possibilities that one diamond scratches the other.
