So... I want a diamond pendant. ;(

I've attached a photo of my studs and the OLD setting of my ring (I have a 6 prong BGD setting now) so you can get an idea of my small diamond collection... and I feel an everyday diamond pendant is exactly what is missing here! And the pricescoper who inspired this obsession will remain anonymous. Tehee!

I'm looking for an everyday pendant. My studs are .45 (G S12 round Ideal AGS) carat each and I feel that is a tad too small for me for a pendant so I'm looking at .7 -.8 with a bezel. Possibly a 16" chain.

Here is the bezel I'm looking at: http://www.bluenile.com/bezel-solitiare-14k-white-gold-pendant_20491

Here is the bezel setting in real life: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/pictures-of-my-43-bezel-pendant-from-bn.65401/page-2 AND http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/my-blue-nile-bezel-dbty-like-pendant-arrived-827528.html

Here are the two diamond I am eyeing:

. 81 carat J VS2 Triple Excellent (HCA score under 2): http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-1-carat-or-less-ideal-cut-j-color-vs2-clarity_LD03439635

.70 carat I VS2 Blue Nile Signature Ideal: http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-1-carat-or-less-signature-ideal-cut-i-color-vs2-clarity_LD02681633

What does everything think? I was worried the color was too low until I compared by G studs to my I color ring and realized when the diamond is small... you can't really tell the difference. Would you pick a J or I color pendant? Is that too low in color for a pendant? I am happy with the clarity and don't want to go any lower there.

I have a J pendant so I would go that low.

For a pendant, I'd be totally ok w a J diamond! I also think that the slightly larger stone will make you happier in the long run (and its cheaper!!)

Ooooh, a DBTY purchase! I love those! :appl:

Only you can decide what style of setting you would like. Personally, I prefer the bezel style. I feel that the solitaire setting with prongs and a bail is rather Eighties - just my opinion. But the bezel style looks like a Tiffany design (of course, DBTY originated with Tiffany).

Another advantage of the bezel is that it really plumps up the diamond!

By the way, Blue Nile would probably make that bezel setting for you in yellow gold, if you ask them, or 18k white, or platinum. They've done things like that for me before. Just wanted you to know that you're not necessarily limited to the metal shown on the website!

And I totally concur with the advice here to go for the larger diamond.

Promise promise you'll post pics of it in SMTB when you get it?
