Using a huge 3D printer that prints in concrete they printed a bridge in The Netherlands.

Here's an 18 minute video of the entire process.
For this geek it was riveting.

Towards the machine elegantly places a wire into the top layer.
I assume it's a heater wire to prevent the bridge icing over in the winter.
Clever.

Awesome, ksinger.

When 3D printing came out it had a huge Gee Whiz factor, but I was skeptical how useful it would be in the real world.
But clearly it is a legit idea.

I love the part about where my cousin 3D printed her husband's wedding ring. True story, not just for the camera. Doesn't get more legit that that, right? ;-) One recent Christmas, she gave me a super cool bottle opener that she designed. Think lacy, curvy iron work trusses from a hundred years ago. It hangs on my keychain. When asked what the metal was, she was like, "We use so many I'm not sure, I was just playing around. Just tell everyone it's made of adamantium." And I do! When they don't laugh, it's pretty reliable indicator of either those who never saw any of the X-Men movies, or people without a chemistry background. ;-)

... ask her if she'll print me a big diamond.
