Its how long you''ve been on the list. You get added to the bottom of the list when you join, and work your way up as the LIWs get engaged.

I''m a newcomer and would like to be on the list please! Feel I''ll be on there for a VERY long time, but here''s to unexpected surprises! We''re going on holiday to Norway just before Christmas, and it wouldn''t just make my day, it would make my LIFE for it to happen there! It''s so beyond unlikely though, I''m able to daydream about it without my hopes getting up in the slightest, lol.

I''m new to this forum. Researching rings and all wedding related stuff. You can never be too prepared.

I''ve been patient now for 5 1/2 years. He said he''d buy a ring and ask me last year. (the problem was he didn''t have the money and had to wait for his bonus) The bonus came. The new speakers got delivered. The DVD collection grew. New couches. Another cat. Etc.
No ring.

It is bonus time again (not that it matters with his salary). I was talking about his new woodworking tools. The new washing machine. New hood for the stove. Running gas lines. New..... He suggested that we should go get me a ring. I got excited and then asked to clarify which ring. (last time he suggested, we got to the store and I found out that he was thinking just a ring. Not THE ring.) Got excited again. Asked why now? It is bonus time and if it would make me happy then he supposes he ought to get me one already. Much less excited.
I told him to only buy me one if he wanted to also. (of course I''d be happy, but I want him happy too)

He says he wants to. He was sick this weekend and just couldn''t go look. I found THE PERFECT RING online. He nearly fell over after seeing the price. ($4700) I told him I want this ring but I''m sure it is available other places for less without sacrificing quality.
Still haven''t looked at them. Spent 6 hours with him(okay, 5 3/4) going from store to store buying his latest new tools yesterday.

Looks like a repeat of last year.

I''ve been lurking, and then I started posting, so I figure I might as well add my name to the list here.

My bf and I have been together for about 9 months but have already been talking marriage and my ring preferences. We''re both teachers and are thinking that marrying next summer would be ideal. And I''ve told him that I''d like to be engaged for at least 6 months before getting married. So, I suspect that an engagement will come by the new year, but I could be wrong. But hopefully I will not have to wait until I''m #29 on the list for my proposal (I''ll be 29 in a few weeks) unless women start dropping like flies (with engagements!).

So may I please, pretty please, be added to the LIW list?

Gosh, I don't know. Tough situation. I can see wanting to remove posters from the list that no longer are posting. It only makes sense. It holds others up from moving forward. But if they came back to post again, would they be hurt that they were removed from the list?

However, I would think that she knows about how the list kind of works. She's been a member since 2007. Her last post was on April 27. She was called to come out but still didn't respond. I have a terrible feeling that things haven't worked out in her favor....
